So I've been seeing these adorable lace crowns all over the place in newborn photography. I just LOVE how adorable they look, so I figured I would give it a try. They were so fun to make, and here are a few of my first ones. Looking forward to hopefully using a couple tomorrow with little Brooklyn for her 3 month shoot:) hehe

Enjoy!

After receiving this awesome headpiece in the mail this week and finding an amazing vintage style bustier, I just had to take some photos. I know it's been a while since my last self-portraits, so I figured it was time to try again:) Needless to say, I forgot that I sold my remote trigger and didn't have my tripod at home, but I think I did pretty well without them. I guess spring must be in the air, even if we do keep getting snow storms.

Here are some photos from day two of our photo excursion. Thanks Alicia for such an awesome time and for being so gorgeous:) xoxox

Well it was definitely a whirlwind Easter weekend with our cousins Alicia and Ryan...although poor Ryan got ditched for some photo journeys in southern Alberta. Alicia and I had an amazing time driving down to Waterton through the rolling hills, and saw a few unwelcome snow flakes, but we pushed through. Then the next day we went over to her friend's farm and we did some photo taking for each other AND I got to ride a horse!!! First time ever, and it was so much fun:)

Here is a bit of our journey. I hope you all enjoy, and Happy Easter.

Frank slide. In 1903 the town of Frank was completely buried when one side of the mountain let go and buried the entire town in their sleep. It was a very eerie feeling being there.

Have you ever wondered what size to print you photo? Even though an 8 x 10 is one of the most common sizes, it may not be the right one for your room. Sometimes more is more! When choosing a print size, the size of your room doesn't have to dictate what you do, but definitely keep in mind the size of your furniture and keep things balanced.

Want to create a show stopper that everyone will talk about? Don't be afraid to go big and go home!

Here is a little illustration of what a difference size can make.

Happy 3 month birthday to miss Addie! She had grown so much, and I can't believe how fast the time goes. Here are a few shots from our fun this evening. Thanks so much to Laurie and Joe for creating such a perfect little girl. I just can't get enough of those dimples :)

I got the chance this afternoon to photograph little Skyler with his mommy and auntie Kate (they are both Kates hehe). He definitely kept us busy while he was here, but we got some wonderful shots. Here's a little preview of our afternoon. Oh and I got my first spit up action shot hahaha. I love how calm Kate is, must have got it before she could react lol.

Welcome to Gin Quist Photography. I am so pleased that my new and improved site is up and running. As you can see, the name is slightly changed due to my wonderful marriage last spring:) I am still doing graphic design work, but I have chosen to feature that on a different site that I will post a link to when it is ready!

My new blog will feature my current photography sessions and projects as well as tips about many different aspects of getting the photographs that you really want. I will cover topics from what to wear, make-up, props, how to choose a location, the difference between printing photos yourself vs. professional printing and many more.

I look forward to a brand new adventure in photography and for you all to join me along the way.
